Franklin Juice is just another one of my favorite stops on 12South in Nashville. Anytime I am in the mood for a healthy snack, I go and grab one of its acai bowls. The one I usually get has strawberries, bananas granola almonds and honey on the top. If I am really hungry, I will get peanut butter added to my bowl! Since the weather in Nashville is heating up, now is the perfect time to try one of these acai bowls. They are the perfect summer snack! If you rarely find yourself in the 12 South area, check out its other locations on Facebook! Have you ever been to Franklin Juice?
12South is one of the busiest streets in Nashville. You can always find people walking up and down the sidewalks, taking pictures and going in and out of restaurants. One of my favorite stops is Taqueria del Sol. If you like chips, queso and guacamole, you need to try Taqueria. Whenever I go, I usually split the chips and dips with a friend. For my entree, I get the brisket taco or the chicken enchilada. The brisket taco is served with pico de gallo in a flour tortilla. The chicken enchilada is made with roasted chicken and topped with your choice of beef red chili, pork green chili or my personal favorite: the lemon cream sauce. If those options don’t sound good to you, you can check out its menu online for more choices. Taqueria del Sol has been one of my favorite places to eat in Nashville. It is affordable and delicious. Have you eaten here before? Would you try this restaurant?
Gibson’s Donuts is one of the most popular spots in Memphis. People don’t just adore this little shop because of the Memphis wall decor; people love the doughnuts at Gibson’s. Gibson’s is open 24 hours a day every day. It is the place most Memphians grab breakfast before work, during the day with friends or at night after a Grizzlies’ game. Gibson’s has a plethora of donut flavors to choose from. My favorites include the maple bacon, the blueberry cake, old fashioned and the red velvet. Gibson’s sells T-shirts in the store. If you wear your T-shirt when you go to get a doughnut, you get it for free! Memphis people love Gibson’s Donuts. Gibson’s gets raving reviews on Yelp, Trip Advisor and Memphis Travel. I think they are the best doughnuts around. Have you ever had a Gibson’s doughnuts? Will you try this delicious treat next time you are in Memphis?
I feel like everyone has a restaurant that they just can’t get enough of. For me, that restaurant is West Street Diner. For as long as I can remember, I have been a dedicated customer at West Street Diner. When I was about 13 years old, I asked my parents to drive me to West Street for an apple waffle. They were busy so they said said no. I wanted the waffle so bad that I biked to the restaurant all by myself. I visit West Street so often that they gave me a laminated menu for my 16th birthday. Needless to say, West Street Diner is definitely worth visiting. It is a charming little diner located in Germantown, Tennessee. The atmosphere of the place is one of the things I love most about it. A big clock hangs on the wall with writing above it saying “time to eat good food.” The people that walk into West Street leave feeling full and happy. The reviews on Facebook and Trip Advisor are glowing. Would you visit this quaint little diner?
Pizza has always been one of my favorite foods. Last semester, when I studied abroad in Italy, I ate pizza almost every day. It was incredible! It wasn’t long after I got back to the states before I began to miss the Italian pizza. Papa John’s was not cutting it! I decided to try to make some authentic Italian pizza in my own kitchen. I did not have a recipe, so I just did my best. I bought some pizza dough from a local Italian restaurant. I used some store-bought pizza sauce. Lastly, I topped the pizza off with fresh mozzarella and basil. I popped it in the oven at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes. It was a delicious success! If you aren’t comfortable with experimenting in the kitchen, try this recipe. You could also try out this recipe. If you ever find yourself in Italy, follow this blogger for all the good restaurants. Would you try your hand at making this authentic pizza?
If you are on the hunt for some good eats, I suggest you start in your own kitchen. For some people, cooking does not come naturally. If you struggle in the kitchen, you may want to sign up for a cooking class. A few weeks ago, my cousin and I registered to take a cooking class in Memphis. We made some adorable macarons! Our instructor took us through the recipe step by step until the sweet treats were ready to be served. Our class was at a fun little shop called Sur La Table. While we made a fun dessert, there are other options. They also have different dinner and lunch choices. You can sign up for whatever meal sounds the most appetizing to you. There are places like Sur La Table all over the place. Nashville offers a cooking class at Dabble Studio. Other classes can be found online. Would you try any of these classes? What do you want to learn to cook?
